June Installation:
Victoria District June Installation: The Spry Lodge # 406
The "Return to Lodge" after the challenges of COVID 19 has been both joyful and triumphant for all concerned.
June heralded the Installation and Investiture of the Worshipful Master and Officers of The Spry Lodge on
Wednesday June 22nd, attended by a strong contingent of Present and Past Grad Lodge Officers, and numerous
Brethren from across the Jurisdiction. Many had participated in Emergency Services Degrees led by
R.W. Bro. Barry Gyton. Congratulations.
King Edward Lodge # 464
William Mercer Wilson Award for Meritorious Service to Bro. Stanley Durward
Presentation of the William Mercer Wilson Award for Meritorious Service to Bro. Stanley Durward: King Edward Lodge # 464
On June 21 2022, the Grand Master, M.W. Bro. David J. Cameron, Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario presented
Bro. Stanley G. Durward with the William Mercer Wilson Award. In attendance on this happy and proud occasion were
Stan's wife Karen, his daughters, and numerous friends and family from across the Jurisdiction.
The William Mercer Wilson Medal is given to one who represents the Craft well and seeks no reward or publicity for the Work
that he performs within the Lodge or outside in the community - a modest man who for reasons of his own has not gone onto
become a Worshipful Master of the Lodge but has given that opportunity unselfishly to many others in his Masonic career.
Generally, he is a mild-mannered, soft-spoken individual who labours quietly and patiently in the pursuit of civility, charity,
and harmony, while making life better for all with whom he comes into contact. Their presence makes a difference in their Lodge,
but more importantly, is a physical personification of all that is good and great about Masonry in the Community.
Congratulations !!

Victoria District Divine Service
On Sunday May 29th, the Brethren of Victoria District attended the Annual Divine Service,
held in Sunderland Ontario at the United Church in the St. Andrews Chapel ministered by Bro. L.W. (Les) Hills,
who is also our District Chaplain. Bro. Hills inspired the congregation with his blend of insightful hymns and music,
anecdotes, personal engagement with the "flock" and carefully selected scripture in his sermon titled
"Pride -Deadliest of the Seven Sins". Few escaped his contagious humour, not even the District Deputy Grand Master,
and all left enthused. The service was well-attended by Brethren and their spouses from 7 of the 12 District Lodges.
During Announcements, Bro. Hills invited V.W. Bro. John Gorrell to the front, where he was presented with
The Veteran Jubilee Medal, in recognition of long service for a Mason who has completed fifty years of continuous
membership in good standing in a lodge in this Grand Jurisdiction. (Due to COVID challenges the medal was not available to
present to John in Fall 2021 with his 50-year pin) Making the presentation: W.Bro. Shawn Blacklock (WM),
R.W. Bro. Gerald Van Houdt (DDGM), accompanied by R.W. Bro. Ron Janes (District Secretary) and R.W. Bro. Murray Baily.
Congratulations John.
